Draft measurement and furnace pressure control

Industrial furnaces, combustion chambers, and thermal process plants depend on stable draft — typically −20 to −300 Pa negative pressure. Aggressive flue gases, high temperatures at the connection, and continuous load are the challenge. A ring balance measures here without electronic sensors in the medium and on request delivers the control signal for damper actuation directly.

Why a ring balance fits here

In flue gas with condensates, acid traces, and dust, conventional differential pressure sensors would fail within a short time. The ring balance has an encapsulated measuring element that only contacts the medium through highly flexible pressure connections. The housing sits at a safe distance. Cleaning and purge connections are possible.

Mechanical low-pass filter
Industrial furnaces are dynamic processes — dampers, burners, and load changes cause the differential pressure to constantly shift in level. The rotational inertia of the ring body physically dampens short-term pressure spikes: no software filter required, no parameterisation, no additional failure source.
Trends at a glance
The analogue scale shows oscillations and pressure tendencies immediately — on-site personnel can tell without any software whether the furnace is running stably, whether a damper is misadjusted, or whether the draft is gradually deteriorating.
