2-Wire Transmitter (passive, loop-powered)
Passive 2-wire transmitter with 4-20 mA output. Loop-powered — no separate power supply required. Ideal for retrofit and simple wiring.
The 2-wire topology is not a compromise — it is the right choice in three specific situations: retrofit in existing installations with already-laid 2-core wiring, cramped cabinets with few spare terminals, and long cable runs where fewer cores save installation and material costs.
Compared to the active 4-wire variant (MU-Analog-65), no separate power supply is needed — the supply comes directly over the signal line. Loop resistance up to 600 Ω at 24 V DC: that covers 100 m of copper cable (0.5 mm²) plus a typical 250 Ω PLC input with spare headroom.
The advantage over other 2-wire transmitters lies in the mechanics: the same ring balance drift-free measurement as the 4-wire variant — calibration history typically shows no deviations, enabling significantly extended intervals.
